April 10, 2019 – Valerie Boyd recently discussed Zora Neale Hurston’s last published work, Barracoon, on WABE’s City Lights. The interview previewed the Lost Southern Voices Festival, where Boyd and other literary critics talked about the book, which recounts the true story of one of the last-known survivors of the Atlantic slave trade.

Boyd is author of Wrapped in Rainbows, the critically acclaimed biography of Zora Neale Hurston, She co-chairs the Alice Walker 75 event and will join other esteemed writers and artists on July 13, 2019, in Eatonton, Ga.
