Tiffanie Barriere was one of the chosen mixologists when the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation profiled five black female bartenders influencing America’s drink scene. The Louisiana/Texas native spent seven years as the beverage director at One Flew South, which was named Best Airport Bar in the world by Forbes Magazine, The New York Times and USA Today. Known as “The Drinking Coach,” Barriere is now an independent bartender, creating cocktail menus for pop-up dinners, hosting mixology lessons around the nation, and connecting culinary and farm culture with bartenders’ creativity. A Bar Smart graduate, Top 50 Tastemakers of the South Award winner, and member of the Tales of the Cocktail Grants Committee and the James Beard Beverage Advisory Board, Barriere’s main goals are education, service and fun with every pour. Barriere is creating signature cocktails and mocktails for the Alice Walker 75 celebration.
