Janet Kelhoffer

Janet Kelhoffer is a member of the AW75 planning committee and secretary of the board for the Georgia Writers Museum. Kelhoffer is a transplanted Northerner, with roots in New York and New Jersey. After attending Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, she went to Miami of Ohio for a master’s degree in school psychology. At Miami, Kelhoffer met her husband, Dan, and they have celebrated many happy years of marriage together. They have three adult children and five grandchildren. Kelhoffer went on to earn an Education Specialist Degree from Georgia State University and worked as a school psychologist and an academic support teacher for more than 25 years. Now retired, Kelhoffer divides her volunteer time between the Georgia Writers Museum, the Plaza Arts Center, church, and other community activities. She treasures two recognitions: being chosen as an Olympic Torch Bearer during the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games, and being named Volunteer of the Year in Eatonton in 2014. Her favorite expression is, ”We are never not busy.”
