Vonda Dickerson

Vonda Dickerson planned her first soirées as a little girl hosting tea parties for her dolls. She styled her place settings with embroidered handkerchiefs as napkins and arranged fresh wildflower centerpieces. Dickerson honed her skills at planning and styling events for family and friends, and made it official in 2015 when she started Soirée Chic Events. She was already running the successful Vonda Dickson Interiors but started Soirée Chic in response to client requests to bring the same beautiful aesthetic and design expertise to their celebrations. In addition to planning and styling weddings, private parties, showers and corporate events, Dickerson served as creative director of Authentic Weddings Magazine. She worked with the Phoenix Foundation in 2018 to plan Wakanda Atlanta, an event that provided 720 metro Atlanta high schoolers the opportunity to view Marvel Comics’ Black Panther. Dickerson transformed the Movie Tavern in Tucker, GA into her version of Wakanda featuring dancers, musicians, Queen Ramonda, and the Black Panther, T’Challa. CNN, NPR/WABE, Atlanta local news networks and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution covered the event. Dickerson attended Spelman College and studied fine arts.
