What is the dress code for AW75? Comfortable, casual, and respectable-whatever that means to you! AW75 is an experience that will have you moving around and on your feet at certain parts of the day. Also, keep in mind our Georgia heat and humidity. Speaking of weather, we may see some afternoon showers, so have an umbrella handy. Here’s a link to the latest Weather Channel forecast for Eatonton.

Is there a different dress code for the evening cocktail reception? No. Please see above. With our action-packed schedule, you probably won’t have time to change clothes. Trust us; you don’t want to miss a thing.

I did not reserve a seat for one of the bus tours. Can I still go on a bus tour? Unfortunately, both the 10 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. bus tours are sold out. Those with a reservation will receive their bus tour ticket at check-in. Don’t worry. There’s still plenty to see in Eatonton. Start inside The Plaza Arts Center with a viewing of the curated AW75 art exhibit or a visit to the Old School History Museum. If you have more time, wander down to the Eatonton Square to visit the Georgia Writers Museum, Artisans Village Art Gallery and other local merchants. The Visit page of this website offers information about area accommodations and restaurants.

Will there be a meet and greet opportunity with Alice Walker? Will she be signing books or memorabilia? We will not be offering any meet and greet or signing opportunities with Ms. Walker at AW75. But she will be present at several events so Alice sightings are likely! However, we are hosting a book signing featuring our Words & Music Tribute presenters at the Georgia Writers Museum beginning at 3:45 p.m. Charis Books & More, the official bookseller of AW75, will be selling books by Ms. Walker and our presenters. Check the Schedule page for more information.

Are there reserved seats at AW75? All seating is general admission, and there’s not a bad seat in the house at The Plaza Arts Center. View their website to get more of a feel for the space.

Will I be able to purchase food and drinks at any of the AW75 venues? We will not be offering food and beverage sales outside of what’s covered with your ticket. Your ticket purchase includes a boxed lunch for First Half and Full Day ticket-holders and a cocktail reception with nibbles, birthday cake, and a champagne toast for Second Half and Full Day ticket-holders. During the reception, The Plaza Arts Center will also offer a cash bar featuring signature AW75 cocktails prepared by our guest mixologist Tiffanie Barriere.

For other tasty options, check out the Restaurants page of this website.

Will photography or audio and video recording be allowed during the scheduled events? No flash photography, telephoto lenses, or other intrusive camera equipment will be allowed during the events. Please remember to silence all mobile devices and keep your and your neighbors’ view unimpeded at all times.

What is your refund or cancellation policy? We want everyone who has bought a ticket to join us Saturday, but we know things happen and plans change. All sales are final. No refunds. Your purchase made this fantastic event a reality, and we thank you for your support.

What items are restricted at the event? Think simple and safe: no weapons, no flash photography, coolers, or big bulky bags.

Is there an AW75 hashtag for social media? We hope everyone will share the celebration via social media using the hashtags #AW75 and #alicewalker75. We would love for Alice Walker to be trending in Eatonton and beyond!
